29thApril 2021
RNLI Aldeburgh lifeboat launched to assist in the search of a missing person. RNLI Aldeburgh inshore lifeboat (ILB), the ‘Susan Scott’, was launched on Thursday 29 April, at approximately 2.45pm, following a Coastguard request, to assist in the search of a missing person off Sizewell beach, north of Aldeburgh
RNLI Aldeburgh ILB was tasked by the Coastguard to launch, following a report of a person missing off Sizewell beach. They were requested to carry out a coastline search, from Sizewell towards Dunwich, while liaising with several local Coastguard teams. There were concerns, as there was a sea swell and a cold wind.
The casualty was later found on shore and, as they were safe and well, the ILB was stood down and returned to station.
