Callout No. 2
Aldeburgh Lifeboat Station launched the RNLI’s Inshore Lifeboat ‘Christine’ to a report of a swimmer, in difficulty, off the shore north of Aldeburgh. The RNLI ILB ‘Christine’ was launched at 12.15, at the request of Thames Coastguard, to a report of a swimmer in difficulty 200 metres off shore.
Once on scene, an independent witness reported that the swimmer had safely got to shore with no assistance. The ILB was stood down and returned to station, with the local Coastguard team continuing to search for the casualty, to ensure they did not require medical attention.
