AT 3.15am this morning #AldeburghLifeboat volunteers were paged to a yacht 9 miles south east of Aldeburgh. Having lost all power, it was drifting towards a shipping lane and the crew were suffering from seasickness. We established a tow for buoyancy and waited for the all-weather lifeboat from @rnli_harwich . Our colleagues from Harwich took over the operation, and our Atlantic 85 returned home. Ralph was washed down, refuelled and back on service by 8.45am.
It was a double first shout for both the Atlantic 85 lifeboat, delivered in February, and our youngest crew member Max, who joined RNLI Aldeburgh in August on his 18th birthday.
