Guild News

After three years as Chairman of the Guild, Patrick Nicholls retired at the Annual General Meeting held on Monday, 11th April 2011 in the Community Centre, Aldeburgh.

During this period, Patrick’s personal initiatives have raised over £47,000. The total funds raised under his chairmanship, from all activities, including the Lifeboat Shop on Crag Path, amount to some £342,000. He has been involved with active fund raising for the RNLI for over 30 years in both Diss and Aldeburgh.

Sarah Halls, Fund Raising and Communications Manager, East, presented Patrick with a handsome framed “Record of Thanks” from RNLI Headquarters. Tom Miller-Jones, President of the Aldeburgh & District Lifeboat Guild, gave him an engraved glass tankard on behalf of the Committee.

Patrick has been an inspiration to the Aldeburgh Guild and Lifeboat Crew, and he will be missed by us all.
